Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970)

Valerie a Tyden Divu

This is what happens when acid hits Prague. It is the fever-dream telling of a young girl and her Grandmother. Now, Valerie has a pair of earrings that are magical/highly coveted. They are constantly being stolen by suitors and ner’do wells and Nosferatu wannabes. Meanwhile Valerie gets her period, her Grandmother has swapped her soul to become young again, a lecherous Priest wants to get in Valeries pants, she meets and falls in love with her long lost brother, Her Aunt (that is really just her Grandmother again) shows up in the form of lesbian vampire, the priest declares Valerie a witch, the circus is in town….etc.

A fairytale for grown ups, very very stoned grown ups. No real scares, but applies to my premise based on vampires, demons, folklore and such. Not recommended for those that are offended by blasphemy, young teens in compromising positions, or a complete lack of coherence. Me? I thought it was pretty fun.
